My oral presentation will be over the term "Biopower". This term was coined by Michael Foucault, Hi's a French scholar, historian and social theorist.
Biopower is a political technology, the distintive quality of this political technology is that it allows for the control of entire populations. It relates to the government's concern with fostering the life of the population and centers on the poles of disciplinaty institutions.
Regulation -from the state- of habits and health would be examples of Biopower.
The importance of this topic in my future career is that I knowing the power of the state over the populations and the control over bodies.
Actually in the Chilean society is absoluted controller by the state across the laws, also controller the bodies of the Chilean society. Examples of this is the prohibition of the abort, weed; incentive of make sports, etc.
